The Great Game


You've finished the book.  You've read the marginalia.  You've become perplexed as the references and layers don't quite seem to work with an individual work or author.  Many of the phrases in the book seem familiar, but cannot be placed.  The dates, the time lines are off.  In fact, it's absolutely confounding and frustrating.
Though this be madness, yet there is method in't - Polonius, Hamlet 
There exist readers of S. who are content and do not wish to know the deeper mysteries, but you are not one of them.  So read on and perhaps be illuminated.
